We love hearing and sharing stories of transformation.
Here are a few words from Angela Grillo, Zachary’s mother.
“I was looking through Zachary´s folder today from school and it made me reflect on the how different this school year is for Zachary. Last year, Zachary would come home from school and throw his book bag in the garage due to frustrations that have occurred throughout the school day. He would tell me that he was “stupid”, “dumb”, and “could not do anything”. The anxiety of opening up his Wednesday folder and finding ¨F¨ on the top of a lot of his papers was crippling. Then morning would come and he would not want to go to school. He would tell me he was sick and sometimes vomit on the way to the bus because he did not want to go to school.
Fast forward to this year – He is thriving at Third Street Academy. He has a folder with all ¨A¨ work in it. He has been earning leadership shield stamps in his folder. He wakes up in the morning and is excited to go to school everyday. I dropped Zachary off this week and all of the kids and the principal were outside waiting for the students to greet them by name as they went into school. The students are physically active throughout the day. They are building relationships with each other and members of the community. He was so excited to show me the route he walks in the neighborhood and he tells me about the people that wave to him. He loves that they learn about GOD! There are so many different people that interact with Zachary on a personal level each day. I am thankful for each and every teacher and volunteer that have helped Zachary be successful already this school year!
Since starting at Third Street, we have a different Zachary! My heart is so overjoyed with him being at TSA.”
We hope this blesses you as much as it does us! Truly a God story!
